Dear Enemy tells the true story of the director’s grandfather who became friends with a German officer during the WWII German occupation of Albania while hiding a partisan, an Italian soldier and a Jewish watchmaker in his cellar.

Margarita Begolli, the portagonist of the film, returns to Albania after 25 years with her memory lost.

The story follows the Kosovar partisan hero known as Lisi (Oak), from WWII days, subsequent liberation, until mid-1960s. Lisi was a brave warrior, yet he and his generation remains largely uneducated. However his nephew starts as a courier, and becomes doctor afterwards.

The events of the film take place in a small town where a group of medical students have come for their teaching practice. Shpresa, the protagonist of the film, sees among these girls, her own daughter, Vjosana, who was bom after an unhappy love and was raised in an orphanage.

Events come through medieval haze in a fantozmagorik city. Under the rocky roofs and the murky wall a frightening mixture of wildlife with fragile hatreds with renewed love of death. Metaphors have to say that power abuse has the same essence but different performances.

Young Kristo lives in a village at the edge of gorgeous Lake Prespa, a body of water divided on the borders of three Balkan countries Albania, Macedonia and Greece. A reflection of rituals which not only show gender inequality, but also the absence of freedom of expression within the male community.

Is it possible to grasp the meaning of the future by accepting only the present and leaving the past behind? A delicate medley of these notions, regarding the historical and cultural background of Albania. Does the youth dare to be disturbed?
