The film shows visitors to the Žofín lido in Prague as they comically mill about.
The film made by the artistic duo of Lucie Rosenfeldová and Matěj Pavlík deals with the phenomenon of phosphene - the phenomenon when variously coloured lights appear in our vision when pressure is applied to our eyes. Based on this remarkable phenomenon, often called inner sight, which has fascinated philosophers, physicians and scientists since antiquity, in their black-and-white imaginative film, the authors reveal how much human perception is influenced by social, cultural and ideological factors.
How to deal with a tricky puzzle? What if one of the solutions brings new problems?
A video collage on the topic of landscape renaturalization, or returning minerals to mined soil. Assuming that we take nutrients from the earth, we should also think about how to return the energy we have taken back to it. In the video, a group of women with children wander around, gossiping and chatting, and their conversations are occasionally interspersed with interviews with farmers who cultivate the land in ways other than with combine harvesters. The women continue to gossip and pass on information. Through fairy tales and rap, the Žin Field is created.
The ideas of the first Czech president come to life in a student film by an author originally from Magnitogorsk, Russia, who, after studying animation in Yekaterinburg, went on to earn a master's degree at UTB in Zlín. Václav Havel's inspiring ideas are underscored by a clear, straightforward artistic style.
