Surge of Transference is a video essay that investigates the expansion of the internet in a small Romanian town, where communities have formed and shifted around the newly imported Western technology. Within this micro-universe, the video traces the rapid transformation of the Internet, from the early days of peer-to-peer software to the upload of online late capitalism.

A tale from the 16th century narrates the story of Ursula, a female figure disguised as a man, who successfully chased away occupying intruders (at that time, the Ottomans) using the supersonic sound of a whip. This account purportedly originated in Cincu, the Transylvanian village which today houses one of N.A.T.O.’s key combat training zones in Romania.

Constantin Noica spent the last years of his life "1400 meters above humanity", as he liked to say - in Păltiniș. Far from the communist gray, but still kept under observation by the Securitate, the philosopher found in this place the joy of talking about wisdom. The camera traces facades of communist housing blocks, depressingly unchanged over the years, as the transcript from the trial of Communist dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu and his wife, Elena, is read without pause or emotion. Five simple people past their first youth have the band "Dio Family". Two taxi drivers, a painter, a baker and a nurse try to get out of the monotony of everyday life through their passion for music. Lack of money, free time, fatigue, failures are at every step, but nothing stops them, because they feel that if they give up they will lose this last bet to find their happiness.

The documentary follows Doru Chirodea, the most unknown poet from Timisoara, whose activity begins in the United States, in the second half of the ‘80s, where he is known in some underground, non-academic circles, in the niche world of zines and independent literary magazines. Back in his hometown, he makes periodic book releases, published in a DIY fashion, in obscure and ephemeral bars, but with a core for a certain local bohemia, on the way to extinction. The film calmly reflects on this end of a lifestyle that already belongs to another era.

With its breathtaking beauty, Transalpina is more than a spectacular roadway serpentining across the mountain. The age of the road connecting Transylvania with Walachia is counted in thousands of years.

Every autumn, shepherds from Transylvania set off with their flocks in search of green grass. This Sheep Road is to some extent like the famous historic Silk Road and the Salt Road.

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived happily with her parents and her younger sister. But the little girl lived in Romania and her parents really wanted a house for them, so they went to work in Spain. The little girl stayed with her sister in the care of her grandmother and so the years passed, until one day the little sister told her that their parents were going to return. So the little girl began to hope.

Most of the Gypsy population of Clejani, a village located some 50 km away from Bucharest, traditionally consists of musicians going back for many generations.
