Relations between two families from different social backgrounds, where neither fathers nor mothers communicate. Despite all, their only son and only daughter befriend and eventually fall in love.
Viktorija is a homeless girl who explores abandoned buildings and takes photos of them. She is looking for a place to stay – with running water and a warm bed. Her husband is in prison. When he gets out, they have big plans: to find a place to stay, to get a job, to stop using, to start a new life. Will they make it? Through their story, the film talks about universal human desires: to be loved and to belong – someplace, with someone. But first we have to love ourselves.
Marko, the son of provincial parents, is a mathematics genius. His great interest in mathematics in his childhood years isolates him from social life. His father, the only person who is aware of his son's isolation, encourages him and teaches him about life. Some day the father goes to the woods to fell trees, and dies in an accident. Because of that Marko moves to Ljubljana and wants to study mathematics in spite of not having finished the secondary school, which causes many complications.

Slovenian director Petra Seliskar investigates the role of ideology in her personal family history by means of interviews with her paternal grandfather, her Macedonian boyfriend Brand's maternal grandmother and his Cuban grandmother on his father's side.
