After losing his fortune, the Marquis de Monfort lives in the back cabin of his old castle, thanks to the charity of the current owner, Camillo, a former servant of his. After the death of his son Pierre in the war, Camillo returns the goods to de Marquis, due to the paternal love he feels for his daughter, Pervanche. Years later, Pierre turns out to be alive and appears at the castle demanding his inheritance from the young woman. The discussion is settled when they get married.

Maud married the banker Dumont mainly out of interest. As her husband accumulates mistresses, Maud writes to her favorite author, Jean d'Agrève, who is actually a charming old lady who think it best to give the letter to her son. The latter pretends he is the author in order to meet Maud. They become friends. But Dumont is assassinated and the young man is somehow accused of the murder.

Tropical Nights is a true “scenic.” Putting aside conventional narrative, the film tells its story by following the lights and shadows on a Caribbean island over the course of a diurnal cycle. As day evolves into night and back to dawn, the camera moves from close-up to striking vistas, with color toning accentuating the mood.

Hollandse Tulpen en Klompen – litterally Dutch Tulips and Clogs – consists of two short fragments each describing a traditional facet of post-war Netherlands. The first fragment shows men and women working on the tulip fields. The second fragment shows children playing at the Island of Marken, wearing the traditional costumes of their hometown.
This short was paid for by Ford Motors in an attempt to improve the lot of the working people through advocating social services.
