Rose is a young factory worker, seduced and abandoned by her lover. She feels compelled to abandon her baby, who will grow up in a rich family, with problems of its own. Rose lives through plenty of adventures, always repenting for leaving her child, until one day.

The fat boy is driver of a makeshift locomotive running on lines made from a stolen fence, whose owner, a black woman, complains to the police. Members of the kids' gang attempt to derail the locomtive, and a fight ensues. The intervention of the police brings a temporary respite, but the locomotive and its occupants escape by driving through a fence.

With a little-known director and second-string cast, the two-reel Moonlight Nights is typical of these low-budget independent productions. The comedy’s plot is not much: Told by his exasperated father to find a job, a klutzy rich kid named Art (Joe Moore) follows a bevy of dancers to their nightclub, where he tricks the maître d' into hiring him as a waiter.
