Year 1925 - 58

Two musicians, Pat and Patachon, arrive in a peaceful little town. When they are about to be arrested because noise is not tolerated on the streets, a young solicitor helps them out of trouble and subsequently finds them jobs with an elderly laundrywoman. The town’s wealthy men are content with their quiet community and refuse to listen to the solicitor’s proposals for improvements and new initiatives to help everyone make money. However, with the help of Pat and Patachon, the solicitor cleverly persuades the men to change their minds. Soon, life flourishes in the little town, and Pat and Patachon are celebrated as its saviours. (Stumfilm.dk)

A rich garbage magnate Ima Hawg is being driven by his chauffeur to a hotel run by Alice and her cat Julius. The hotel has seen better times, and so the two are thrilled when they see the limousine roll up. Hawg demands a barber and a manicurist, and Julius feels he's up to the job. He does his best to please the grouch, with mixed results.

Elaine Kent weds Kenneth Billings, a young man who has a taste for wild living. She attempts to reform him and his exasperated father disinherits him. Now that he is without money, Kenneth starts a dye business and he proceeds to throw himself into it with the same amount of effort he once spent on the high life. As a result, he overworks until he is on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

Pelle Frisk is second-in-command on the S/S Hispania. He is a fighter and a ladies man and known as "The Flying Dutchman".

Wealthy contractor Michael Arnold hires civil engineer Jerry Foster to work on a dam under construction in the West. Michael hopes to enter high society and encourages his daughter, Alice, to marry Lafayette Van Renselaer, a fashionable young aristocratic. Alice is attracted to Jerry but mistakes his friendship with Kathleen O'Toole for love. Lafayette abruptly ends his affair with Kathleen when he has an opportunity to wed Alice, and accuses Jerry of trifling with Kathleen's affections.

Two men claiming to be scientists arrive in Arizona looking for Blair, a fellow scientist who disappeared while developing a death ray. The men hire Jim Wilson, who finds Blair living with his daughter on a ranch in an inaccessible valley near the Grand Canyon, where the scientist is testing his ray on birds and wild animals.

The fisherman Aitaré courts Cora, an innocent girl from a small village. Several disagreements separate the heroes, until the expected happy ending. The film shows both the beautiful beaches of the region and the sophisticated milieu of the aristocracy in Recife. The clash between tradition and modernity can been seen in an obvious way in the film.

Song-jae immerses himself in scientific experiments and abandons all personal life. Song-sun commits suicide while opposing the marriage arranged by her parents.

Bonzo is rejected by his sweetheart, a pekinese called Chekee, who is enraptured by her favourite film stars. However, she readily accepts Bonzo after he has been to Hollywood, and returned as the famous actor Bon Chaney.
